We are rich in culture and religious significance. We have much and more festivals. Among the festivals, dashain is the greatest  festival of hindus. The hindus and Aryan people generally celebrate it. The other people belonging to other religious are also found enjoying the festival of dashain. It generally falls on ashwin.

Dashain is not only celebrated as the greatest festival but also celebrated as a national festival in our country. According to our mythology, this ffestival is the symbol of victory of virtue over sin. It has been running in practice of celebrating since rama, the prince of ayodhya, killed the demon king ravana. That's why the festival has its historical, religious and cultural significance.

 Hindus celebrate this festival for fifteen days but all these days are not equally important. Among the days the first day called gatasthapana, people sow seeds of corns to be used as blessing flower ofn the tenth day which we call jamara. The seventh day is Fulpati (Phoolpati), people sacrifice animals to the name of goddness durga. The process id following lasting for other two days called mahaasthami and  Mahanawami. The tenth day is called vijaya Dashami, On this day the seniors bless their relatives  family members putting red colored Tika on the forehead with flowers and jamara. The process of taking tika, jamara and blessing goes continuously to the day of kokjagrath poornima, which is the last day of the festival dashain. All the relatives and family members gather together. On the very occasion thery share their felling and experience which maintains brotherhood friendship cooperation and humanity. It is a symbolic significance of human civilization what we do during dashain.

 

During the festival people share their happiness send greetings to one another wishing for the progress and prosperity people also enjoy several types of food. Children seem to be very happy because they are provided with new and attractive clothes.

 

It is also the period of completely leisure schools colleges government and non government  offices remain closed. The employee get holidays. Farmers are seen very please and happy because they can find their fields covered with greenery.

 

The festival of culturally, historically and religiously significances should be innocent animals to offer her. It is not a good way to please her rather then brutality. Animals have also their rights to live and survive along with human beings.

The dashain festival is celebrated for 10 days. Schools colleges government offices private offices institutions organizations and so on do remain closed during these days. Some people enjoys playing cards and some do enjoy in swing during this festival. Children usually enjoy to go to their material uncle's home during this festival

 

On this day, people sow barley seeds and place it in the dark but holy places. To do so they take holy sand and holy water from holy river some people even sow maize seed together with barley seed from that day people do regulary pour water in it it is from that day only that goddess bhagwati is worshipped till nine days which is known as navarati similarly the seventh day is known as fulpati on this very day flowers are carried from gorkha durbar to hanuman Dhaka in relays in one day. People do sacrifice goats hens buffalos and so on at their homes and temples on eighth and ninth days the main important day of this festival is vijaya Dashami.

 

According to our legendary book the ramayan it is ram's victory over rawan. Rawan was the ten headed demon king of  Lanka.  The first day is Ghatasthapana. People sow jamara of maize and barley in the corner of the room since that day onwards goddess Bhagawati is worshipped for nine days it is called Navaratri.  The seventhday is fulpati. Flowers are carried form gorkha durbar to hanuman dhoka relays in one day. The eighth day is mahasthami and the nith day is mahanawami. On these days people sacrifice goats, pigs, the do so to please their goddesses.

Mahasaptami

The seventh day of Navratri is blossoming.
